Finish the Fight: Pass Fentanyl Bills Now to Save Lives! America is winning the war on fentanyl under President Trump's bold leadership, but unfinished business demands immediate action. Since his 2025 inauguration, overdose deaths have plunged 33%, with synthetic opioid fatalities down sharply and border seizures skyrocketing—preventing enough poison to kill billions. Executive Order 14157 has labeled Mexican cartels as terrorists, freezing $500 million in assets and boosting interdictions by 50%. The HALT Fentanyl Act, signed July 16, 2025, permanently schedules fentanyl as a Schedule I drug, imposing 10-year minimums on traffickers. The multi-pronged strategy—tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada; enhanced border tech; and naloxone expansion—has slashed deaths below 90,000 annually, proving Trump's vision works. Yet, with temporary scheduling for some fentanyl analogues expiring September 30, 2025, we can't risk backsliding. Pending Republican-led bills are the key to permanence, locking in victories against this national security threat. Urge swift votes to impose life sentences on deadly dealers, sanction Chinese suppliers, and treat fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction.
