Pass DHS Funding Now — Support ICE | Act for America

Image
Senate Democrats are threatening to block vital funding for the Department of Homeland Security—including money that supports Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)—in response to recent events in Minnesota, raising the very real possibility of a partial government shutdown if DHS money isn’t removed or altered.  Key Democratic leaders have said they will withhold their votes on the DHS funding bill unless significant reforms are enacted on immigration enforcement following the fatal shooting of a Minnesota resident during an ICE operation, a stance that could usher in a partial government shutdown at the end of this week.   We cannot sit silently while the men and women who risk their lives every day to remove dangerous criminals and keep our communities safe are hounded, blamed, and lambasted in the media and political arenas. ICE agents and DHS personnel carry out difficult work that protects American families from violent offenders, and defunding or undermining these e...

Deport and Denaturalize Fraudsters | Act for America

Image
Senate Bill 3606, the Fraud Accountability Act, introduced by Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and co-sponsored by several of her Senate colleagues, with a companion bill in the House (H.R. 6975) led by Representative  Buddy Carter (R-Ga.), delivers the accountability America desperately needs. This powerful legislation amends the outdated Immigration and Nationality Act to make any fraud conviction a deportable offense for noncitizens—no matter the dollar amount—while mandating detention during deportation proceedings to prevent escape. For naturalized U.S. citizens convicted of fraud, it triggers automatic denaturalization, stripping them of citizenship they betrayed. The bill includes a retroactivity clause covering fraud dating back to September 30, 1996, and allows any court to handle these cases, closing loopholes that have shielded criminals for decades. In the wake of the Minnesota fraud scandal—where billions in taxpayer dollars were stolen through Somali-linked schemes—...

Support Somali Self-Deportation | Act for America

Image
On January 6, 2026, Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX) introduced H.R. 6946 to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for individuals from Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, and Somalia. Under this bill, those currently protected under TPS from these countries would be required to self-deport within 180 days of its passage.   In addition to the rampant fraud that has been uncovered in Minnesota, Maine, and Ohio (among others), Rep. Hunt stated that he was also motivated to introduce the bill as a way to prevent Sharia law from spreading in the United States. Hunt, a military veteran, stated, “As somebody that has lived under Sharia law, somebody that has deployed to the Middle East, this is also a broader conversation about keeping people that hate our country out of here.”   Those who come here seeking opportunity must respect our laws, our culture, and our freedoms. They should not exploit our systems, undermine our values, or turn against the country that gave them hope. Now is the...
